I also recently got asked to make some other ones and I forgot to take pictures of them arrrggggg maybe next time it was suppose to match the candy border socks and I made a similar candy clip.

It cost 3.99 for a 4 oz block. When I compared the amount of a regular block of 2 oz sculpey III you’re getting the same amount 2 oz vs 2oz so at that rate pluffy clay cost around .75 cents more for the same amount of 2 oz , pluffy clay just comes in double the size.

When I took it out of the packate this is how it look

It feels and looks just like salt water taffy except that its not as stretchy. When I first ripped a chunk of it from the package it does feel squishy and soft , its basically kind of like pre kneaded sculpey III. Its slightly lighter than Sculpey III but its no where as light as lets say Hearty Clay, pluffy clay has like a medium weight to it , its a nice weight to make pieces with I really love this about it.

When I started playing around with it, it does warm up some. When its cooler it doesnt really stick to your fingers but as it warms up I felt a slight film start to coat on my fingers it felt like oil residue.

Then I decided to see how pluffy clay accepts other pigments since I only bought white. It does come in multi colored packages though.

I first added some soft pastels in a dark purple shade. As you can see in the picture below it did change colors but the more pigment I added the clay started getting super soft and the residue on my hand went from a slight film to thick layers sticking to my fingers

Then I decided to add some acrylic paint in to see how it mixed with that

As you can see in the picture the clay started to really fall apart , it turned very goopy and very messy.

I went to wash my hands with some soap and at it first it was a bit hard to remove all the stuff from my hands. The oily residue really sticks to your skin and I had to scrape it off my fingers with my nails and then rewash until it was finally all gone but even then it still feels like there was a slight film there.

Next I tried to see how the clay could be textured. I tried to make a quick ice cream scoop and it takes texture really well.

I then put some clay into one of my mini molds and this clay molds really well. It really only works on shallow molded pieces because as you can see in the pic I had a big chunk of clay outside the mold to even pull it out because the clay is so squishy you cant remove it from a deep mold without deforming it.

When I tried a more shallow mold I guess the clay was still too warm and it left some residue in my mold which is HORRIBLE. First because this clay does not dry and it leaves a film its going to be hard to clean the mold.

Then I wanted to see if chunks of the clay would stick together and make smooth seams and lines. At least it works well on those matters. The clay sticks to each other pretty good when the clay is warm , the cooler it is it might not stick as well. I guess I’ll find out when I bake it.

* Also dont mind my ugly kitty sculpture lol I did that in 5 seconds with the tip of my pen just to test it out lol

BAKED UPDATE

The good news is that it does bake really hard, although when I took it out the bottom seemed to be still a bit wet, I baked several pieces at different times and they all had this issue. So I flipped them over and had to bake the bottom to get it fully dry.

• When the clay is warm it stuck to all my tools and my fingers
• Annoying to clean up as it can leave a thick layer of residue

I dont know how Im going to use this clay. Its fun to work with but the clean up is so annoying I dont think it may really be worth it to really use. I spent more time cleaning up my hands and my tools then working with the clay. After every step of trying to make something I had to clean my hands from so much residue being over everything. All that residue adds up to wasted material as well, so I’ll test it out more over the next few days to see if I can find a use for it that really wows me away to the point that I would buy another package of it.

I just wanted to show you some of the other products I made . Also I know people have been letting me know they would like to see a few different tutorials for making miniatures. I know I make alot of tuts on making fake whipped cream lol but thats my favorite things to figure out how to make from different mediums. I also love making water and foam , they may seem simple but they are ones of the most difficult things to get just right to look realistic. I will show a few different tutorials in the future on “DIFFERENT” stuff lol

Let me know what other things you guys would like to see and I’ll consider it.

I decided to make mini whipped cream dollops for my miniatures. I just squeezed some into a pastry bag with a icing tip and just like regular frosting made some whipped cream dollops. It feels like really thick frosting the appearance is just like frosting which helps it to look realistic.

It hardens externally in like 30 minutes to an hour and fully dry inside in a few days depending on how thick you make it.

When it was dry I was very excited because at first touch it seemed very hard. Sadly though even with slight pressure on the tips of the whipped cream dollops, the tips broke off.

However the upside to this material is that its good for making frosting that your lathering on instead of more detailed shapes that are thin like the tips of whipped cream dollops.

When ur frosting ur minis like cupcakes or cookies it can crack though so it resembles more of a royal icing type of frosting. It does look realistic but if you are one of the ones that likes their mini’s to be flawless I wouldnt recommend this.

It mixes with acrylic paint beautifully and easily. The basic line of liquitex is suppose to be the more economy brand rather than a pro brand they also carry. I may try other more expensive brands to see if they dry to a harder finish.

So my final conclusion is I wouldnt use this brand to make whipped cream dollops. I will use to frost some cookies, cakes, cupcakes or even to make fake snow on displays.

It all worked out though because by 9 A.M the weather cleared up and it was a beautiful day.

UNTIL …. DUN DUN DUN I actually got there lol … it turns out it was more of a yard sale then a craft show.

overall everybody loved my stuff and I got great feedback I made my booth fee back plus a *tiny profit. I mean only like 30 people took the long walk over so I guess that was too be expected. I actually sold alot of pins to boys which I didnt expect since most of the stuff was for girls but I did sell just about all the stuff I had for boys so next time I know I’ll make more stuff for them as well.

It was so funny one boy yelled out after looking through the tables “hold up a second why is everything pink and girly in here you have anything for boys” lol he was really appalled lol but I helped him find a few pins and he seemed happy with that.

I took this more of as a learning experience , I probably wont be doing alot of other school events unless I know for sure its a craft show and not a yard sale type of event.

I actually have another show tomorrow but I dont know if Im going because again the forecast says rain but this time it says all day so I dont know if Im going or not yet.

Im so thankful to all my customers for being patient with me while I’ve been working on the site. I know the front page looks like nothing has changed but trust me there is alot going on behind the scenes. I think everything will be up and running in the next 2 weeks.

I’ve been doing a few shows lately so that took up some of my time but dont fret the main shop will be up and running in no time. woo hoo

Other packaging cards I’ll use this for bows, necklaces, bracelets, clips basically anything of medium size

I have another huge order coming up with more packaging products. Now all my handmade items have a lovely home to live in . woo hoo

These little toppings made of clay may seem easy to do and they really are, but after hours of rolling out clay and without a pasta machine mind you but by hand its dreadfully annoying. I have to make custom colors, bake and then cut out thousands of sprinkles then I separate them by color and bag them. arrrrrrrrgggggggggg

I mean it really is great to have them around but they are so annoying to make which is why I make thousands in one day so I dont have to make them again for a long time.

Several days later my hand still hurt, I really have to get me a pasta machine and see if that will help me out. Im so glad sprinkle making day has gone by.
