Materials used to make Fake Sugar

Making faux sugar is very simple to do. All the items needed to make it can be purchased in the good ol USA. You really dont need to pay super high prices to import your goodies from japan. I know that alot of people that make Re-Ment, polymer clay miniatures, decoden really dont want to share their secrets sooo….. I will lol. Im just tired of alot of sellers charging 4 or 5 times the prices of what the items actually cost. So I will let you know how you can make your own fabulous artificial sugars for a low cost price and w/out paying S&H since most items can be found in your local craft stores.

MATERIALS

  1. Glass Glitter – also known as vintange glass glitter and german glass glitter, its basically fine ground up glass
  2. Diamond Dust glitter by Twinklets – this is also glass glitter but I wanted to post up a brand I thought you might like or be able to find on the shelves of your craft stores.
  3. Ultra Fine or Microfine Glitter – This is great to make very fine faux granulated sugar.   Art Institute  makes great glitter but you can find cheaper ones in most craft stores.
  4. Martha Stewarts Crystal Coarse Glitter – If you want your sugar to have a bit more texture
  5. Glass MicroBeads – Glass beads that come in assorted sizes and colors that can give a variety of sugar textures from fine to coarse.
  6. Chalk – Great to make fake powdered sugars, just scrape off some shavings
  7. Mica & Pigment powders – Great to make artificial powdered sugars
  8. Eyeshadow – Great to make powdered sugars especially with old makeup, so instead of throwing it away , upcycle them.
  9. Colored Pencils – Just scrape off some shavings from the tips
  10. Baby powder – Talcum powder – Great for Powdered Sugar
